The Same Old Lies Again

“My dog ate up my homework”
“I did not see the stain”
“My sister tore the curtain”
The same old lies again.

“I finished all my veggies”
“The bus was late again”
“I did not copy her answers”
The same old lies again.

“I had already taken my medicine”
“I was caught up in the rain”
“I did not break the vase”
The same old lies again.

Everyone uses the same excuse
Again and again
Then why do we still bother to use
The same old lies again?
