It Wasn’t Her Fault
It wasn’t her fault,
She didn’t know
That life was a torture
Here to stay.
She toiled,
From first light to twilight
for a bare few cents
To feed a family of twelve.
It wasn’t her fault,
She didn’t know,
That for working so hard,
all she would get was
just a few bruises and a few deep scars
From that beast,
Who knew nothing at all.
It wasn’t her fault,
She didn’t know,
That just tossing the dice
could cost so much.
It wasn’t her fault,
She didn’t know,
That trying to fly,
To gain freedom
would cost her
Her life.
Just with a bound,
It ended all.
