I Only Knew

I never knew how bad it was,
I only knew it happened.
The children and the youngsters,
who were robbed of their youth.

I never knew the pain they went through,
I only knew how to have fun.
The bruises and the scars they had,
while I was being loved and cared.

I never knew how they felt,
i only knew i felt protected.
The loneliness and abuses,
which gave them low self-esteem.

I never knew what I could do,
I only knew how to pity them.
But now I know that i can help,
I can make a difference too.
