Fear

The feeling deep inside the heart,
Like a fist crushing and squeezing,
The feeling that I’ll break apart,
It’s the fear that keeps me crying.

The fear of what the future holds,
The fear of loved ones young and old,
The fear of having lost a friend,
The list goes on like there’s no end.

There’s one thing that’s on my mind,
That keeps me awake on lonely nights,
It’s that one-day I’ll break in two,
From all the worrying and fearing I do.

Fear, I smell it,
Fear, I taste it,
Fear, I hate it,
Fear, I fear it.
