Dear Mummy

I think I hear some noise mummy,
I can’t wait to hold your hand,
I want to kiss you mummy,
Why don’t you understand?

I want to go shopping with you mummy,
I want to buy you a dress,
I want you to see me study mummy,
Right behind my desk.

Why are there doctors mummy?
They’re trying to take me out.
Tell them that you love me mummy!
Tell them what I’m all about!

Please make them stop mummy,
It’s hurting me real bad,
You told me that you love me mummy,
Why are you taking your words back?

I’m dying mummy,
I don’t even know where I belong,
I’m really sorry mummy,
I know I must have done something wrong.

My time is up mummy,
The doctors have pulled out my heart,
Dear mummy you’re forgiven,
I’ve loved you from the start.

Simple yet sweet. I like the progression of the poem, leaving a sad closing.

touches the heart. reminding us that there is still unconditional love in this world and also that we must take care with the feelings of others. the language is rather childish but provides a perfect contrast to the maturity of the view and subject.

Sad and kinda depressing, but it holds the thought that family will always be the dearest to you.
Desperation to escape can be seen here, too. And a slight self-blame. :P
