Christmas Day
So here's your holiday;
All the presents are given away.
The carols are sung, the wishes all said,
"Merry Christmas", to the living and dead.
Exchange your gifts of love with everyone,
Go out to frolick and have fun.
But whilst you all play, scream and shout,
Pause a moment to think about-
The young, the innocent and the dead,
and may they stay within your head,
not to haunt and not to fright,
but to be someone you pray for tonight.
May they rest, may they heal,
Have a shelter and a meal,
May they be blessed by angels above,
with smiles, hope and maybe some love.

The poem is an interesting mix of the dark and the positive. GOod use of rhyme scheme to lift the mood of the piece.:)

Interesting view!And the rhythm allows it to sort of dance along - reminds me of carols (:
